In this Worship Tech Tour, we\u2019re diving into the incredible tech setup at <strong data-start=\"322\" data-end=\"358\">Alive Church in Orlando, Florida<\/strong>. This church has an impressive <strong data-start=\"390\" data-end=\"443\">blend of AVL (audio, video, and lighting) systems<\/strong> that support their vibrant worship environment. I had the privilege of walking through their setup with <strong data-start=\"548\" data-end=\"565\">James Garrett<\/strong>, who gave me the full breakdown of how everything works behind the scenes.<\/p><h2 data-start=\"642\" data-end=\"683\"><strong data-start=\"645\" data-end=\"683\">A Growing Church in a Unique Space<\/strong><\/h2><p data-start=\"684\" data-end=\"1076\">Alive Church is located <strong data-start=\"708\" data-end=\"742\">right next to the Florida Mall<\/strong>, one of the busiest areas in Orlando. They currently <strong data-start=\"796\" data-end=\"870\">seat around 530 people per service and hold four services every Sunday<\/strong>, meaning they have over <strong data-start=\"895\" data-end=\"911\">2,000 people<\/strong> coming through their doors each week. Their auditorium was originally <strong data-start=\"982\" data-end=\"1008\">an office supply store<\/strong> before being completely renovated into their current worship space.<\/p><p data-start=\"1078\" data-end=\"1300\">One challenge they\u2019re tackling is <strong data-start=\"1112\" data-end=\"1134\">acoustic treatment<\/strong>. The exposed <strong data-start=\"1148\" data-end=\"1177\">corrugated metal ceilings<\/strong> and hard walls create <strong data-start=\"1200\" data-end=\"1224\">unwanted reflections<\/strong>, so they\u2019re working on <strong data-start=\"1248\" data-end=\"1265\">adding panels<\/strong> to fine-tune the sound experience.<\/p><h2 data-start=\"1302\" data-end=\"1348\"><strong data-start=\"1305\" data-end=\"1348\">Powerful PA System for Engaging Worship<\/strong><\/h2><p data-start=\"1349\" data-end=\"1464\">The <strong data-start=\"1353\" data-end=\"1366\">PA system<\/strong> at Alive Church is <strong data-start=\"1386\" data-end=\"1401\">fully flown<\/strong> and designed to provide <strong data-start=\"1426\" data-end=\"1443\">even coverage<\/strong> throughout the room:<\/p><ul data-start=\"1465\" data-end=\"1734\"><li data-start=\"1465\" data-end=\"1577\"><strong data-start=\"1467\" data-end=\"1485\">Main Speakers:<\/strong> DAS WR Series (Four flown in the front and four delay speakers in the middle of the room)<\/li><li data-start=\"1578\" data-end=\"1640\"><strong data-start=\"1580\" data-end=\"1596\">Front Fills:<\/strong> DAS R Tech Series to cover the front rows<\/li><li data-start=\"1641\" data-end=\"1734\"><strong data-start=\"1643\" data-end=\"1658\">Subwoofers:<\/strong> DAS Event 218s (Two dual 18-inch subs, one flown and one under the stage)<\/li><\/ul><p data-start=\"1736\" data-end=\"1838\">They also use <strong data-start=\"1750\" data-end=\"1764\">side fills<\/strong> for extra monitoring, particularly for pastors and special venue rentals.<\/p><h2 data-start=\"1840\" data-end=\"1882\"><strong data-start=\"1843\" data-end=\"1882\">Drums, Keys, and Tracks Integration<\/strong><\/h2><p data-start=\"1883\" data-end=\"1965\">Alive Church has <strong data-start=\"1900\" data-end=\"1931\">a well-thought-out approach<\/strong> to drum isolation and monitoring:<\/p><ul data-start=\"1966\" data-end=\"2203\"><li data-start=\"1966\" data-end=\"1997\"><strong data-start=\"1968\" data-end=\"1981\">Drum Kit:<\/strong> DW Studio Kit<\/li><li data-start=\"1998\" data-end=\"2097\"><strong data-start=\"2000\" data-end=\"2016\">Microphones:<\/strong> A mix of <strong data-start=\"2026\" data-end=\"2051\">Shure, DPA, and Audix<\/strong> mics for <strong data-start=\"2061\" data-end=\"2095\">kick, snare, toms, and cymbals<\/strong><\/li><li data-start=\"2098\" data-end=\"2203\"><strong data-start=\"2100\" data-end=\"2116\">Drum Shield:<\/strong> A newly installed <strong data-start=\"2135\" data-end=\"2153\">full enclosure<\/strong> significantly reduces bleed into the vocal mics<\/li><\/ul><p data-start=\"2205\" data-end=\"2243\">For <strong data-start=\"2209\" data-end=\"2228\">keys and tracks<\/strong>, they utilize:<\/p><ul data-start=\"2244\" data-end=\"2468\"><li data-start=\"2244\" data-end=\"2295\"><strong data-start=\"2246\" data-end=\"2264\">Yamaha Montage<\/strong> for traditional piano sounds<\/li><li data-start=\"2296\" data-end=\"2377\"><strong data-start=\"2298\" data-end=\"2329\">StudioLogic MIDI Controller<\/strong> running <strong data-start=\"2338\" data-end=\"2355\">Sunday Sounds<\/strong> for pads and synths<\/li><li data-start=\"2378\" data-end=\"2468\"><strong data-start=\"2380\" data-end=\"2406\">Scarlett 2i2 Interface<\/strong> to integrate keys into their <strong data-start=\"2436\" data-end=\"2466\">Ableton-based track system<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><p data-start=\"2470\" data-end=\"2584\">The <strong data-start=\"2474\" data-end=\"2487\">track rig<\/strong> runs through an <strong data-start=\"2504\" data-end=\"2527\">8-channel Radial DI<\/strong> and routes into their <strong data-start=\"2550\" data-end=\"2575\">Allen &amp; Heath Avantis<\/strong> console.<\/p><h2 data-start=\"2586\" data-end=\"2631\"><strong data-start=\"2589\" data-end=\"2631\">Wireless Mic Rack &amp; Stage Organization<\/strong><\/h2><p data-start=\"2632\" data-end=\"2818\">One of the biggest <strong data-start=\"2651\" data-end=\"2670\">recent upgrades<\/strong> at Alive Church was moving all their <strong data-start=\"2708\" data-end=\"2780\">wireless mic receivers from front of house to a dedicated stage rack<\/strong>.
